1937 silvertone radio model 4565. This is a very large table top radio offering a tremendous sound on a 7 tube super - het playing on both am and shortwave. This model Sports the famed and perfectly detailed gold dial measuring a huge 6 in. It was made for Sears, Roebuck & Co., by Colonial Radio of Buffalo, NY and sold under the Sears brand name of "Silvertone" as part of the "Sears Golden Jubilee" which offered a series of Silvertone radios with different sized gold dials and styles. The largest and most impressive Silvertone gold dial of this series measured six inches in diameter and was used in the higher tube count 1937 Silvertone models, including this one. It covers the AM broadcast band (545-1720 KC) and short-wave to 18 MC. This radio also marked sears's 50th anniversary. This is an extremely ornate radio by Design with a novel form factor and very ornate veneers on the face. The tenite bezel and knobs show no wear and are perfect. All is original with the radio factory installed. The radio retains the full Factory back. You will seldom see a better example. The radio retains its original speaker cloth. The radio has been highly professionally repaired and plays as new. There's a brand new eye tube that Winks with sensitivity as You Tube from Station to Station. A mini - Jack has been added to allow the use of any modern device to input any content of your choice. Bluetooth has also been added to this radio.
